Frequently Asked Questions

You must provide: a scanned copy of your passport with a notarized translation; educational certificates with a notarized translation; an applicant's form; and an application for admission. If you plan to continue your studies after completing the courses without returning home, we recommend obtaining an apostille for your educational certificates in advance.

Is instruction in Russian or English?

In most Russian universities, instruction is delivered in Russian. Some universities offer programmes taught in English, but their tuition fees are typically significantly higher. Choosing an English-language programme means forgoing a key advantage: the in-depth acquisition of Russian, which enhances your competitiveness in the job market.

Can I use my international payment card in Russia?

International payment cards are currently not accepted in Russia. Don't worry — just bring some cash for your first few days. Once you arrive, we'll help you open a Russian bank account and get a local card. It makes paying for goods and services throughout the country quick and easy.

What clothes should I pack?

If you're visiting in September or October, you don't need special clothes. But for November or winter, pack warm layers — Russian winters can get very cold! Don't worry if you need extra warm clothes: local stores offer a great selection of winter gear.

Is dormitory accommodation included in tuition?

No, student dormitory accommodation is not part of the tuition package. You'll pay for it separately — the monthly fee is around 20–40 USD. Once you arrive and move into the dorm, you make the payment directly to the university.

What additional costs should I expect besides tuition?

Plan for: air tickets to Russia; hotel stay before moving into the dormitory (if required); dormitory accommodation fees; medical examination and health insurance; visa extension costs; and essential items for the dormitory (bed linen, warm clothing, kitchenware, etc.).
